This is pretty much the "HOLY CRAP, READ THIS FIRST!" type of area. I'm pretty sure every site has one, so you should know what to do... Unless you're new to the forums scene... In which case, read everything in here before joining!
Welcome to the Bulletin Board, your up-to-date board for all things out of character. (: All in-character updates and such can be found in random places around the site, as well as in the sidebar.
As times change, people change—so, don't be afraid to switch things up. Claims are only permanent for as long as you keep them that way. d: Some are mandatory, some are not.
All right, who doesn't love these nifty...plot page...things? Making them, yes, is a right pain in the arse, but that's what we have sites like CAUTION! for anyway, right?
Welcome to the bottom of the school. This area is mostly done in stone, and lit by torches and floating candles. It is known to be darker and colder than the rest of the school.
The ground floor is definitely more presentable than the lower-levels. It's well lit and warm, topped by very high ceilings, decorated by all kinds of moving portraits and pretty things.
This is where the classrooms and actual school-related areas start. Even so, it is brightly lit and airy, not at all stuffy. You can also find the Hospital Wing on this level, so take note.
Because of Moaning Myrtle and her habit of flooding the girls' bathroom located on this floor, this level is not used as often anymore. It's mostly just empty classrooms, storage areas, and mysteriously locked doors.
There is no logical reason as to why this floor is so rarely used... Other than Dumbledore's losing his mind. Over half of the level is "forbidden" because it's down the "forbidden corridor". Weirdo.
Since the school's library is so darn huge, it takes up most of the fourth floor. If you're an avid reader, this place is for you. If not...well, there are bathrooms, too? And a secret passageway if you can find it.
The sixth floor could be considered the most empty floor. There is a set of bathrooms, true, but the rest of the level is practically collecting dust from its lack of use over the years.
Yay, a more exciting area of the castle! We've got a few classrooms and offices, more portraits and statues of suits of armor—and the Room of Requirement, a room that most people don't know of.
Ooh, aah. Towers. How exciting! They've each got a fantastic view, sure, but good luck getting up the excessive amount of stairs. It's almost worth being a Slytherin for—there are less stairs to get to their common room.
The grounds are quite popular with the students of Hogwarts. No matter the weather, there is bound to be at least one person wandering about. The nicer weather, of course, draws a lot more students outdoors and away from studies than the yuckier weather.
Being as the world is, you know, gigantic...you'll need a way to get from Point A to Point B. I mean, how else will you get to Hogwarts, right? And who doesn't like the Knight Bus?
When it comes to doing some shopping for all of your magical needs, Diagon Alley is the place to do it. They've got all the stores you'll ever need. Kind of.
For all most everything else, there's Knockturn Alley. It's known as the dirtier, scarier, lower area of town, and it's certainly the less visited of the two Alleys.
Ah, Hogsmeade. Where would the students of Hogwarts be without Hogsmeade? Of course, many other witches and wizards come here, too, but they know to pretty much stay away on Saturdays.
Located in the heart of London, the entire building is actually underground. Visitors can enter through a red telephone telephone box, ministry officials can use the floo network and other such entrances.
If the healers at St. Mungo's Hospital can't help you, no one can. At least, that's the idea and all. They'll help you with simple things like cooking burns and upset stomachs, and they'll help you with more difficult things like curses from dark objects.
Everyone has to live somewhere, right? Well, this is where all of the homes are. Some are in England, some are in Scotland, but they're all being kept here because ProBoards doesn't have unlimited sub-board chains yet. *sighs* I, for one, cannot wait until V5—just for that reason.
